We worked with the homeowner to design a structure that would hold three or four cords of wood and provide covered space for a small trailer. Two of the three bays have a rough-sawn timber-framed floor and one is left open for trailer parking. Plates for the 28-foot structure are made with two timbers joined together with a scarf joint using oak wedges and pegs. The frame was treated with “boat soup,” a mix of boiled linseed oil, pine tar, and turpentine.
